A postdoctoral position working on the radio searches for pulsars with Einstein@Home is available at the Leonard E. Parker Center for Gravitation, Cosmology, and Astrophysics (CGCA) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), working with Profs. David Kaplan and Bruce Allen. Einstein@Home is a distributed volunteer computing project that searches for new neutron stars using radio, gamma-ray and gravitational-wave data. Applicants should have a PhD in astrophysics and experience with pulsar searching. Experience in software development is a plus. Because of the current challenge in travel and relocation, working remotely may be possible, particularly for an experienced person with a good track record.

The CGCA at UWM has active research efforts in astronomy, astrophysics, gravity, and cosmology, with membership in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Zwicky Transient Facility, the GROWTH collaboration, the Murchison Widefield Array, and others. The CGCA also hosts the NANOGrav Physics Frontiers Center.

The appointment is for two years. A start date as soon as October 2020 is possible, but no later than September 2021.
